monikrr has been the pseudonym of Tristan Valenti for over half a decade, and still, this is all new to him.

Many walks of life have been personified in Valenti’s work, making his discography, as it stands now, something of a coming-of-age story.Prioritizing independent multimedia communities such as Newgrounds, he released the song "inhibition", in which its inclusion on the front page allowed for fellow artist cnri to tap Valenti in for initiation into marble club, a collective consisting of members tracey brakes, thirtyonetwentyfive, thayerperiod and a handful of others. After the acclaim following the release of marble club’s EP "porcelain" (DESKPOP — 2021), monikrr continued to gain recognition from prominent figures at the time, such as Niztopia, Overcast and even Apple Music themselves (Alternative — Glitch).After marble club disbanded, Valenti dedicated himself to evolving monikrr in multiple fashions, culminating into the debut album "CICADA*" (propyl — p.016), showcasing a diverse range of styles, format and lyricism. It didn’t save him. It couldn’t.Valenti has faced irreversible life-altering, world-changing events since the release of "CICADA*"; only now has he found the words to express the heartache that has defined his later teenage years. There’s still much to learn, but as he continues to break his chains in writing, you will come to understand why the canvas had to be torn down, in order for him to decorate and dollify the fabric underneath.
